The investigational version of Paindrainer PD1 uses advanced algorithms to analyze how activities affect pain levels. A user logs 7 daily activities that have scientifically proven effects on pain levels: Sleep, Work, Rest, Leisure, Exercise, Activities of daily living, and Household. The level of pain is logged on a scale from 0 to 10.
Based on the individual's own data, each user receives completely unique recommendations on how to act to take control of their day. The user gets help to achieve activity balance and to understand how one's activities affect the pain.
The fundamental goal of pain rehabilitation processes is to optimize a patient’s self-rated quality of life. Pain is always a personal experience influenced by biological, psychological and social factors.
It is recognized that self-management is the key component of successful pain management. It emphasizes that individualized, patient-centric approaches for treating chronic pain are needed.
Paindrainer is a digital tool, based on the principals of pain management, utilizing the core component of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); to move towards an openness, awareness, and values-based life engagement. Chronic pain can lead to avoidance behavior, either of activity that is believed by the patient to increase pain, or of rest, due to lack of acceptance of a new situation. Paindrainer can help both patient groups to obtain a health activity balance that enables the patient to increase health related quality of life though a value based lite style.
I see hundreds of patients every week and having a tool that could improve their quality of life and allow me to be more efficient is a dream and helps more patients. Using a tool that allows the patients to help themselves in their journey, achieves true patient-centric care.
